Convert Markdown

Text from a chat or a developer tool often arrives as Markdown: ## Heading, **bold**, - bullet. In Word those characters just sit there.

Select the Markdown text and invoke the feature – the characters are turned into real Word formatting: headings get heading styles, asterisks become bold, hyphens become bullets.

With nothing selected the add-in reports: "Select the Markdown text you want to convert first."

This feature works locally; nothing goes to the AI service and nothing is rephrased. Only the formatting changes.

Remove Content Controls

Content controls are the grey-shaded fields from forms and templates – "Click here to enter text". In a finished document they get in the way: the text inside cannot be edited freely, and they travel along when you copy.

The feature removes the controls and leaves text and formatting intact. Afterwards it tells you how many there were.

With nothing selected it asks: "No text selection detected. Do you want to remove ALL content controls in the entire document?" – the capitals are meant seriously; that is the whole document.

If the document is protected it will not work; the add-in says so. Remove the protection and try again.

Clipboard to Text

Task menu ▸ Word Helpers ▸ Clipboard to Text

Takes whatever is in the clipboard and turns it into usable prose in the document. Meant for content that looks unusable when pasted normally – a copied table, an excerpt from a web page, a list from another program.

Unlike the two tools above, this content does go to the AI service; the result is rephrased, not merely reformatted. Expect that, and check it.

If there is no text in the clipboard, the add-in says so.
