System requirements and updates

What you need

• Windows, with the Microsoft Office application you want to use the assistant in: Word, Excel or Outlook.
• For Outlook, the classic desktop app. The new Outlook and Outlook on the web are not supported.
• .NET Framework 4.8. It is part of Windows 11 and of Windows 10 from version 1903, so on a current system it is already there. On an older one the setup stops and asks you to update Windows first.
• The Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime, which the chat and transcription panes are drawn with. It ships with Windows 11 and with current Windows 10 installations.
• A Logiks account. There is no API key to enter and no provider to pick: which AI models you can use comes from your organisation's configuration.

Two further runtimes are required, the Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office runtime and the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime. The setup carries both and installs them only if they are missing, so there is nothing for you to fetch.

Installation

Each application has its own installer, and it installs for every user of the computer, which means administrator rights. It comes in two forms:

• A setup file for installing by hand - the one to use on your own machine.
• A plain MSI package for IT departments, which can be rolled out unattended through Intune, SCCM or a group policy: Word, Excel, Outlook.

Updates

The assistant checks for new versions itself and offers them to you. You can also check whenever you like under Task ▸ Settings. An update is installed like the first installation, so the Office application has to close for it.

Other platforms

The assistant runs on Windows only. There is no version for macOS and none for Office on the web.
